Evil and good are simply labeling words to put upon a change or a constant. A destroying change, a creating change, or a preserving change. A destroying constant, a creating constant, or a preserving constant. Such are the facets of God.
Our humanly ignorance which keeps us from the realization that each of these constants or changes are aspects of God, leads us to eternal suffering.
The only real evil in this universe is that of ignorance. No soul is purely evil because each soul is of God- but what God gives us is the will to make decisions and strive for closeness to Brahman, the Eternal Truth, out of love and knowledge. The just system of karma will govern our experiences and obstacles as one unravels past ignorance. To break free from karma, one must face each lesson given to us and treat it as God. Each obstacle thrust upon us a chance to break our karma- so it cannot be judged as “good” or “evil”. In no other way other than this realization can one attain the aspects of a yogi, or of one who attains moksha from the cycle of rebirth through karma. The close companion of ignorance is indifference, or the act of acquiring the knowledge one needs in order to create inner peace, but never utilizing it or acting upon it.
